Who are we?
We are a small group of cigar aficionados from all walks of life. We come from all age groups, work environments, and some of us are now retired. We enjoy the camaraderie, relaxation, and the “mini-vacation” that a good cigar provides. We have both deep-thought and whimsical discussions.
The original Legends Cigar Herf was established in May of 2024, in The Villages, Florida. We are excited to have expanded to the SpaceCoast in July of 2025 to include even more people that enjoy the love of a good cigar.
Where do we meet?
We are located in Merritt Island, in Florida. Specifically, we presently meet at the
Merritt Island Moose Lodge #2073
at:
3150 N Courtenay Pkwy, Merritt Island, FL 32953
Even more specifically, we normally meet outside in the screened and roof-covered area there.
Moose Lodge #2073 is located in Merritt Island on North Courtenay (State Road #3) just north of the barge canal (Christa McAuliffe) bridge. The Moose Lodge is on the east side of the road.
When do we meet?
This question is a little harder to answer. We meet every other Tuesday from 5PM to 7PM. The “every other Tuesday” however, cannot really be easily conveyed, so reference the calendar below to see when we meet. If you would like to try our herf, just use the email link below to let us know that you are interested in stopping by.
We would like to have your name, text number, and any short message you may want to leave (not required though). Emails are sent out prior to each meet-up. This gives us an idea of how much area to reserve for our group each meetup.
What should you bring to your first herf?
Normally, each herf member will bring one cigar to smoke, and one or two to trade or give to others. You are encouraged to do the same, but if it is your first herf, it is perfectly fine if you just bring one for yourself. You also may want to bring a comfortable chair of your own. While chairs are provided, you may prefer to bring a more suitable chair for a sitting duration of a couple of hours.
Is there a membership?
Yes. Upon meeting with us we will learn more about you, and you will learn more about us. Though we are not really a traditional club with rules and regulations, we DO vet our members. After meeting with us we have an informal (typically email) vote on acceptance. You will receive notification within a of couple days.
If you are not a member of Moose Lodge #2073 (or other Moose Lodge, of course), you can still attend and try us out! If you like our group, you should also become a member of Moose Lodge #2073 ! It is currently only $60 per year! As a member, you will have access to great drinks with great prices, delicious prepared foods, entertainment, a fantastic staff, and now ALSO The Legends Cigar Herf as a relaxing mini-vacation every couple of weeks!
Is there any cost?
Apart from buying your own cigar(s) and being a Moose Lodge member, there is no other cost. You are encouraged to give us a try first, then decide from there if you would like to join us regularly!
Where can you purchase fine cigars?
Smokerings 72 is the best local cigar lounge where you can purchase fine cigars. We highly recommend this business and the wonderful staff there!
Can you smoke cigarettes with us?
We will not say "NO", but it is not something that we encourage. Cigars are not inhaled, and unlike cigarettes present FAR less of a health risk. Many doctors agree. Additionally, cigars are not physically addictive to the extent that smoking cigarettes or vaping can be. We feel that cigarette smoking is not really appropriate in the same environment where we have our herfs.
